This chicken curry is an easy, delicious dish made using pressure cooker. It is a hot dish cooked with green chillies ,red chilli powder  and having a nice thick gravy of onions and tomatoes.I usually make this dish for parotta, ghee rice, roti.

Preparation time : 10 mins

Cooking time : 25 mins
Serves : 2 persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Chicken – 300 g
Onion – 3(medium size) sliced
Tomato -1 (finely chopped)
Green chillies – 3(chopped roughly)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red  chilli powder -1  and 1/2 tsp
Oil –  2 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves – a sprig
Coriander leaves – a few
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Salt to taste

METHOD

1.Heat oil in a pressure cooker.I have used a 3 liter pressure cooker. To the hot oil add cumin seeds and fennel seeds, green chilli, curry leaves and saute them.

2.Then add sliced onions.Cook them until they turn golden brown. The taste of the curry depends on how well the onion is cooked.Add little salt for the onion to cook faster.

3.Add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes. Then add chopped tomatoes.Saute them and make them mashy.

4.Then add chicken to it.Add turmeric powder,Red chilli powder, required amount of salt and mix them well.Add about 1 and 1/2 cup of water to it.Close the lid.Put the whistle.Allow for about 4-5 whistles.Release the pressure and open the lid.If the curry is watery cook until the water is reduced. Finally add coriander leaves to  add flavor to it.Transfer it to a bowl and serve it.
