Ellu Thuvaiyal / Sesame seeds Thogayal /Sesame seeds Chutney

 
Ellu Thuvaiyal a best sidedish for lemon rice,Puliyotharai.You can just mix this thogayal in rice and eat.It tastes awesome.Sesame seeds are good source of protein.It is a natural cure for anemia as well as other iron deficieny problems.It lowers cholesterol level.Good for pregnant women and fetus.You can also have it dosa,idli.I love the aroma and taste of this thuvaiyal.

Serves : 2 persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

 
Sesame seeds – 1/4 cup
Dried Red chilli – 6
Garlic – 3
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
Tamarind a small piece
Urad dal – 1  tbsp

METHOD

1.Put sesame seeds in a pan and Dry roast the sesame seeds till it starts to crackle.Remove the roasted sesame seeds and keep them aside.
2.To the same pan add oil and fry urad dal,dried red chilli,garlic,tamarind.
3.Switch off the flame and add grated coconut to it.Fry it in the heat it itself.
4.When it cooled down, put all the fried ingredients in a mixie along with salt and grind it. Add water little by little and grind it to the desired consistency.I added about 3 tbsp of water and ground it.
