Mackerel Rava fry / Rava Fish fry

Last friday I made this delicious rava fry with fresh mackerel fish for lunch.It is made by marinating fish with freshly grinded spices,lightly coated with Rava and then fried.Here is the recipe for it.

Cooking Time : 20 mins
Serves : 2 – 3 persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Mackerel fish / Asala / Ayila – 3

Rava / Semolina / Sooji – 1/4 cup
Coconut Oil – for frying

For marination

Dried Red chilli – 5
Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp
Garlic – 4 cloves
Ginger – 2(1 inch slice)
Peppercorns – 10
Fenugreek – 1/4 tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Salt to taste

METHOD

1.Clean fish and make deep slashes in it so the marination will get into fish.

2.In a blender add all the ingredients given in for marination and blend into a fine smooth paste by adding water if required.

3.Marinate fish with this paste and allow it to marinated for about 30 minutes.

4.Heat coconut oil for frying in a pan.Coat marinated fish with Rava.

5.Drop fish into oil and fry it.When it turns golden crisp on one side flip it to the other side and fry till they turn golden crisp.Then remove it from the oil.
Serve hot with onion slices and lemon wedges.
