Spicy Quail eggs roast / Kaada mutta varuval

Quail eggs are richer in vitamins and minerals compared to chicken eggs.Even it comes in small sizes, quail egg packed with lots of nutrient which provide many benefits to the body.Today I made this roast along with Sambar for lunch.My husband and kid loved it.Try this recipe at home.Adjust spiciness and tanginess to your taste.

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves : 2 persons


Quail eggs – 10

Small onions – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Tamarind extract – 1 tbsp (runny extract)
Oil – 1 tbsp


1.Boil quail eggs in water for about 5 mins.Remove eggs and put in cold water.After 5 minutes remove  shells .Cut them into halves and keep them aside.
2.In a tawa add oil.Add small onions.Saute them to light golden.

3.Add Turmeric powder,Red chilli powder,salt to your taste.Mix well the masala with small onions.Add tamarind extract.

4.Now add quail eggs and roast them along with the masala.It goes will with Rice and Sambar,Rasam.
