Egg drop curry a easy,delicious curry made with poached egg in coconut milk along with spices and masalas.It goes well with Appam,Idiyappam,Chapathi,Roti ….and also Rice.It is a quick dish.There is no need to boil eggs we can directly break eggs and pour them directly into the curry.I usually make this curry for Chapathi and Idiyappam.You can also check Egg Kurma/Muttai Kuzhambu recipe.Lets get into the Recipe.

Serves : 2 Persons
Oil – 3 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Bay leaves – 1
Cardamon – 3
Cloves – 3
Cinnamon stick – 1(1 inch stick)
Onions – 2(sliced)
Tomato – 1(finely chopped)
Green chillies – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Coconut milk – 1 cup
1.Keep all the ingredients ready.I used ready made coconut powder for making coconut milk.You can also use fresh coconut.blend it in mixie and extract coconut milk.To a kadai add oil and then add Bay leaves,Cardamon,Cloves,Cinnamon sticks,Fennel seeds and cumin seeds.Add sliced onions.
2. Saute till the onions turn nice golden brown.Add green chillies,ginger garlic paste.Cook till raw smell goes.Add chopped tomatoes to it.
3.Cook till tomatoes turn mushy and oil starts oozing out.Add turmeric powder,Red chilli powder,Coriander powder and mix well with sauteed onions and tomatoes..Add required amount of salt .
4.Add 1 and 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil.Break and pour eggs into the curry and cook in low flame till the eggs get cooked.Add coconut milk to it and Bring it to boil.Serve it hot with Rice,Appam,Idiyappam or chapathi.
