Mushroom 65 / Kalan 65

Mushroom 65 is a crispy and tasty dish.It can be had as a starter,snack or as a side dish with Rice,Biryani,Pulao etc.This mushroom 65 is a favorite dish for everyone at my home.Me and my sis tasted this mushroom 65 for the first time in Saravana bhavan hotel.It was so tasty.From then onwards whenever we go out to eat in veg restaurants we used to order this dish for sure.I buy mushroom at least once in two weeks.They have amazing health benefits.After making curry or masala with it I save some mushrooms for 65 or Bhaji because it is so simple to make and it makes an awesome snack for evening especially during winter.Let’s see how I made this 65.
Preparation Time : 20 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves : 2 Persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Mushroom – 250g
Salt to taste 
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
Rice flour – 1 tbsp
Maida flour – 1 tbsp
Corn flour – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves
Lemon – 1/2
Oil for frying

METHOD

1.Clean mushrooms and cut them into halves again cut this halves to two or three slices each.I used white button mushrooms.
2.In a mixing bowl add Rice flour,corn flour,Maida flour,Turmeric powder,Red chilli powder,garam masala,required amount of salt,ginger garlic paste and mix well.Add about 1 tbsp of water and few drops of oil and make a fine smooth paste.
3.Now add sliced mushrooms to it and mix well with the marination.Now squeeze the lemon to it and mix well.Allow it to marinate for about 10 mins.Don’t leave it for a long time as mushrooms will start leaving water.
4.Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.To the hot oil drop the marinated mushroom pieces with a spoon one by one else they may stick together.When they turn golden crisp remove them from oil.Don’t overcrowd mushroom while frying.Fry them in batches.Similarly fry all the marinated mushroom pieces.Fry curry leaves in oil and add them finally.Serve it hot with Onion slices and Lemon.
