My favorite Mutton Kuzhambu with Potatoes and Drumstick which amma makes mostly for Sunday Lunch along with some mutton gravy and any veggie stir fry.It taste awesome with Hot Rice.I love this curry a lot with Idli or Rice and appalam.Here is the recipe for mutton Kuzhambu.

Cooking Time : 35 mins
Serves : 3 Persons
Mutton with bones – 250 g
Potato – 1 big sized(diced into 8 pieces)
Drumstick – 1 (cut into finger size pieces)
Small onions – 1 cup(roughly sliced)
Tomato – 1 (finely chopped)
Red chilli powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Green chilli – 2
Coriander leaves – a few
Oil – 2 tsp
Bay leaves – 1
Cinnamon stick – 1(1 inch stick)
Cardamon – 3
Cloves – 3
Grated coconut – 1/3 cup
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
1.Clean mutton pieces and keep aside.Grind grated coconut,cumin seeds,fennel seeds into a fine smooth paste by adding water.
2.Cut potato and drumstick.Add them to a pan along with water and cook them till they get soft.
Drain excess water and keep them aside.
3.To a pressure cooker add oil and saute Bay leaves,cinnamon stick,cardamon,cloves in it.Then add small onions to it.
4.Saute small onions to translucent and then add coriander leaves,Green chillies. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
5.Add chopped tomatoes and mix well.Cook till they become mushy.Add cleaned mutton pieces.
6.Mix the mutton pieces well with cooked onion and tomatoes.Add required amount of salt,Red chilli powder,turmeric powder,Coriander powder.
7.Mix the masalas well with the mutton.Add 1 cup of water.Close cooker with lid and allow for 5-6 whistles till the mutton pieces get cooked.
8.Release the pressure with ladle.Open the lid.Add cooked potatoes and drumstick to it.Add blended coconut paste.Mix well and Allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes.Put off the flame then.Serve it with Rice,Paratha,Roti,Idli,Dosa.
