Mutton liver Pepper fry is a very healthy dish.Mutton liver contains a large amount of high quality protein,iron and vitamins.Before I love dishes made with Mutton liver.Because Mom used to make dishes with fresh mutton liver.But now here I can only get packed ones and I am not great fan of it now.So I buy them rarely and make it for my husband and kid.Waiting to go home for vacation and have nice dishes cooked by mom.At home usually on Sundays dad used to buy it.Mom used to prepare gravy or fry with mutton liver along with Mutton Kuzhambu for Lunch.If you have low hemoglobin level its good to take liver.This dish is prepared by frying Mutton liver with Pepper and cumin powder along with chopped small onions,ginger and garlic.Lets see how I made it.

Serves : 2 – 3 Persons
Mutton Liver – 350 g
Oil – 2 tsp
Small onion/Shallots – 1 cup (finely chopped)
Garlic – 1 tbsp(finely chopped)
Ginger – 1 tbsp(finely chopped)
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Coriander leaves – a few
Green chillies – 2 (split into half)
Salt to taste
1.Cut Liver into cubes.Wash them well in water and keep them aside.To a pot add oil,chopped garlic,ginger and saute them well in oil.
2.Add curry leaves,chopped small onions/shallots and saute them till they turn nice golden.
3.Add chopped mutton liver cubes and saute them in oil.Add required amount of salt.Close the pot with lid.cook for 5-7 minutes and Stir them regularly.
4.Add Turmeric powder,pepper powder,cumin powder,fennel powder to it and mix well.Add about 1/2 cup of water and allow liver to cook well.
5.When water is reduced and liver is nicely cooked.Add chopped coriander leaves and green chillies and mix well.
It accompanies well with Rasam rice,Rice with Dal.
