Mutton Sukka

Mutton sukka is my favorite mutton dish.This is my mom’s sis recipe.I love it.She makes it along with Biryani sometimes.It tastes amazing with it.It also goes well with Rice and dal or Rasam and also Pulao varieties.I made it along with Jeera rice and Raita. Boneless mutton is a best choice for this recipe.I used home made masala powder in this recipe.I bought it from home when I came back from India.My grandma and chinnama used to make this masala powder bulk at home and use this masala in all curry recipes.Briefly This masala powder is made with  Dried red chilli,Whole coriander seeds,Cumin seeds,Fennel seeds,Whole dried turmeric and Peppercorns.I will make another post of how to make this masala powder soon.My husband also loves this dish a lot and he often asks me to make this dish.Also check out my Mutton Biryani Recipe.Click here for Mutton Recipes.Try this recipe and you will definitely love it.

Cooking Time : 45 mins
Serves : 3 persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Mutton – 1 kg
Oil – 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 3 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Masala powder – 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste – 3 tsp
Onion – 2
Tomato – 1
Coriander leaves – a few

METHOD

1.Clean mutton and cut them into cubes.Keep all the ingredients.To a pressure cooker add little oil and saute onions till they turn light golden.Add ginger garlic paste.
2.Saute till the raw smell of ginger garlic goes and onion turns nice golden .Add tomatoes to it.Cook till they get mushy.Add required amount of salt.
3.Cook them till the oil starts to ooze out.Then add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,masala powder and mix them all well.
4.Add mutton pieces now and mix well with the gravy.Add water till it covers mutton pieces and pressure cook for 7 – 8 whistles till the mutton get done.Then put off the flame.Release the pressure with a ladle and Open the lid.
5.Transfer the gravy to another pan and cook it the water gets reduced.When water has reduced nicely.Add oil and fry till the gravy gets non sticky to the pan.Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve it with Rice and Dal/Rasam,Pulao,Biryani.
