Instant Rasam

Today I am going post a recipe on Instant Rasam.This is the rasam which I make on a hurry burry day using Rasam Powder.I use store bought rasam powder for this recipe.This rasam is so easy and quick to make Anyone can make this rasam so easy.This recipe has been waiting in my draft for a longer time since the final pic was not so appealing to me but any how I made up my mind to post it today.Actually I am not a great fan of Rasam and Rice.I like to have it as a soup.But now a days I like to have it for lunch along with Rice and some veggie stir fry.With no further delay lets see how to make it.
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Serves : 2 – 3 Persons


Ripe Tomatoes – 2(finely chopped)
Green chillies – 3
Garlic – 4
Curry leaves – a sprig
Salt to taste
Rasam powder – 1 tbsp
Tamarind – a small lemon size
Oil – 1 tsp 
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Jaggery – a small piece 
Coriander leaves – a hand ful


1.Soak tamarind in about 1 cup of water extract the juice and discard the pulp.In a mortar add garlic,curry leaves and crush them with the pestle.To  a pan add oil and temper it with mustard seeds and crushed garlic curry leaves.
2.Break green chillies and add them to the pan.Saute them well in oil.Now add finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook till they get nice  mushy.Add Rasam powder and required amount of salt.
3.Add tamarind extract and 1 cup of water to it.Bring to boil and finally add jaggery and coriander leaves.
Instant Rasam is ready
