Spicy Squid Fry / Kanava fry

As It was holiday yesterday we went to the nearby fish market and bought fresh fish for lunch.I got some Mackerel(Ayila/Asala)fish along with some Squid which is also known as kanava in tamil,koonthal in malayalam.On the way to back to home We stopped by a plant nursery and purchased some plants to add them to my small garden.Placing plants bring life to room and make me feel better.Coming to food I made fish curry with Mackerel and Spicy Squid fry for lunch yesterday.This fry tasted yummy  with Hot Rice and Fish curry.Lets see how I made it.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Marination Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins 

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Squid – 1/2 kg
Coconut Oil – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves – a handful

For Marination 

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 2 pinch
Ginger garlic paste – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

METHOD

1.Clean and wash squids with Turmeric powder.Cut them into rings.To it add the ingredients given for marination along with few drops of oil.Leave it to marinate for about 15 mins.

2.To a pan add the marinated squid pieces along with about 2 tbsp of water.Cook squid till the water gets reduced.

3.Then add oil,curry leaves to it and cook till the squid gets coated well with the masala in low flame. Squid takes only few minutes to cook else it will get rubbery.
