வாழைக்காய் எண்ணெய் பத்தை – Spicy and Tangy Raw banana Roast -Vazhakkai ennai Pathai

I got this Spicy Raw banana Roast recipe from a Tamil magazine.Adding tamarind extract to the masala makes it taste different.It has spiciness of red chilli and tanginess of tamarind together.It goes well with Rice and Dal curry or Sambar.

Today lets see how to make this spicy and tangy Raw banana Roast.
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 30 minutes
Serves : 3 – 4 Persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED


Raw Banana – 500g
Oil – for shallow frying
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Tamarind – a small lemon size

METHOD

1.Chop the tips and  Peel off the skin of Banana.Slice them into thin round slices.
2.Cook banana slices till they are half done.Drain the water and keep cooked banana slices aside.
3.Add little water to tamarind and make about 1 tbsp of thick tamarind extract.To a mixing bowl add Turmeric powder,Red chilli powder,Salt to taste.Add tamarind extract to it and mix well.Add little water and make a smooth paste.
4.To the paste add the banana slices and mix well.Allow it to marinate for few minutes.
5.To a Tawa add oil for frying.when the oil is hot add the marinated slices to it.Roast them well and remove from flame when they are done.
Serve it hot with Rice and Dal,Sambar.
