Kuzhi Paniyaram is one of the easiest and quickest dish that can be made for Breakfast,Dinner or even as a snack.Everyone will love this dish.You can also pack them for your kids.You can make this kuzhi paniyaram with leftover Idli/Dosa batter.This is a savoury version.It goes well with Sambar,Chutney.Lets see how to make it.
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Serves : 3 Persons
Idli/Dosa batter – 2 cup
Oil – 3 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Green chilli – 3 (finely chopped)
Ginger – 1 and 1/2 inch piece(finely chopped)
Curry leaves – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
1.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds.Let them crackle.Then add chopped onions.Saute till they turn translucent.Add green chillies.
2.Add chopped ginger,required amount of salt,curry leaves and coriander leaves.Saute them well for few minutes.Allow them to cool.
3.To the Idli/Dosa batter add water and make it to a nice flowing consistency.Now mix the tempering with the batter and mix them well with batter.Add water for the required consistency.Now paniyaram batter is ready.
4.Heat Paniyaram pan/Appe pan.Add little ghee to each hole in the pan.Then pour about one tbsp of paniyaram batter to it.Cook in medium flame.Close the pan with lid.Once they turn golden flip them with a spoon and cook the other side till they turn golden.Then remove from the pan with a spoon.Make paniyaram similarly with the remaining batter.
