Rice Fritters-Leftover Rice Pakora(Pakoda)

Pakoras or Fried Fritters made with cooked rice or Leftover rice,Gram flour,onion and few spices.They are great snack to have along with Tea.These pakoras are quick to prepare and tastes well.You can also check my other recipes which can be made with Leftover rice.
Now lets get into the recipe.
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Serves : 2 Persons


Cooked Rice – 1 cup
Onion – 1 medium sized finely chopped)
Gram flour – 2 tbsp
Green chillies – 3
Curry leaves –  4 tbsp (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves -3 tbsp (finely chopped)
Asafoetida – a generous pinch
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Ginger – 1 tbsp(finely chopped)
Salt to taste
Oil for frying


1.Take cooked rice in a mixing bowl.To it add all the given ingredients and mix them well with your hands so that the rice is mashed well.You can add little water for required and make the pakora mixture.
2.Heat oil for frying in a pan and Then take about a small portion of mixture and drop them in oil.Fry in medium flame.Keep frying till they turn light golden.Fry the remaining pakora mixture in batches.
Serve Pakora hot.
