Instant Spicy Chicken gravy – சிக்கன் கிரேவி

An instant Chicken gravy made with few ingredients.But tastes lovely.My sis shared this recipe with me.Onions,Tomatoes,Dried red chilli,oil and salt is enough to make this chicken gravy.This will be the simplest gravy ever.I served it with Vellappam.It will go will with Rice,Pulav,Rotis….It is a good recipe for Bachelors and people who are new to cooking.

Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves : 3 – 4 Persons


Chicken – 500 g
Oil – 1 tsp + 1 tbsp
Onion – 2 (chopped into small pieces)
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves – a few

For. Grinding

Tomato – 1 and 1/2
Dried Red chilli – 4
Kashmiri Red chilli – 5


1.Clean and Wash Chicken with Turmeric powder.Chop Onions.Keep all the ingredients ready.
2.In a kadai add 1 tsp of oil and fry the Dried red chilli and Kashmiri Red chilli till they turn dark.Remove them from kadai.Add them to a grinding jar.Roughly chop the tomatoes and add them to the jar.Grind them into a fine smooth paste.
3.To the same kadai heat 1 tbsp of Oil. Add chopped onion. Saute them well in oil till they turn translucent and light golden. add the ground masala paste. Mix well with the onions. And cook till the raw smell goes.
4. Add in the chicken pieces.M ix well with the masala. Add required an amount of salt.C over the kadai with a lid for about 6- 7 minutes till the chicken is cooked well. Finally, add chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame.

Serve hot with Rice,Appam.Idiyappam,Roti….
