I am a die hard fan of prawns.I love each and every dish made with Prawns as like many other out there.This is my sister’s recipe which she quite commonly make with chicken and I tried with Prawns.This pepper masala tasted well with Prawns in it.It is so simple and easy to make except the cleaning part of prawns.It is a time consuming one but yet worthful for its taste.This prawn masala goes well with Rice and Rasam or sambar, Roti, Naan,Chapati.You can also try my other prawn recipes.

Now lets see how to make this pepper prawns masala.
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 25 mins
Serves : 2- 3 Persons
Prawns – 500g
Ginger garlic paste
Onion – 2 (thinly sliced)
Tomato – 1(chopped into small pieces)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves – a few
For Dry roasting and Grinding
Peppercorns – 3/4tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2tbsp
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
1.Clean,devein and wash prawns in water for about 3-4 times.Keep them aside.Dry Roast Peppercorns,Cumin seeds, Fennel seeds for few minute till a nice aroma comes out. Then switch off the flame.Now add Coriander powder and roast them in the heat itself. Allow it to cool down and then transfer them to a mortar. Crush them well with the pestle.
2.Heat oil in a kadai.Add sliced onions.Saute them to golden. Then add ginger garlic paste.Saute till the raw smell of them goes off.Then add chopped tomatoes,Turmeric powder and salt. Cook till the onions and tomatoes get mushy.
3.Add cleaned Prawns. Combine them well with the onion and tomatoes.Prawns will start leaving water.Allow it cook for 5 minutes. Cooking it for more time will make it get rubbery. Now add the ground masala and garam masala.Mix well with the prawns. Cook it for few more minutes until the oil begins to separate. Add chopped coriander leaves. Switch off the flame. Serve with Rice,Roti, Pulao etc.
