Snake gourd 65 – புடலங்காய் 65(Pudalangai 65)

Hi all. Came back with another interesting, finger licking dish made with snake gourd.Snake gourd 65 does it sounds different to you as it was to me.This recipe was shared by my sweet little sissy.she tasted it for the first in a marriage function.Then she tried it and asked me too to try it out.I also added some more ingredients to it in my way and made out the dish.It tasted simply awesome.You can have it as a starter, snack or as a sidedish.I am sure that anyone  will become a fan for this dish once they taste it.

Serves: 2-3Persons

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Snake gourd – 300g(2 medium sized)
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Red chilli powder – 2tsp
Coriander  powder – 1tsp
Chicken 65 powder – 1tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Maida/all purpose flour -2tbsp
Corn flour -1tbsp
Rice flour – 2tbsp
Salt to taste
Red food colour – a pinch
Oil for frying

METHOD

1. Peel off the skin of snake gourd. Cut them into halves. Remove the seeds from them. Now chop into squares. Wash them well and keep them aside.
2. Take a bowl, to it add corn flour, rice flour, all-purpose flour, Turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, Coriander powder, Chicken 65/chicken masala powder, Ginger garlic paste, food colour and salt to taste. Add a tsp of oil to it. Mix them well with hands and then make a thick batter adding water little by little. Add the chopped snake gourd squares and mix well. Allow it to Marinate for about 10 mins.
3.Heat oil in a frying pan. Drop in the marinated pieces one by one with a spoon. Don’t crowd them. Fry them to nice golden brown in a medium flame. Once done remove from flame.
Serve hot.
