Masala Peanuts – Peanuts Pakora/Pakoda – Masala Verkadalai/Verkadalai Pakoda – வேர்க்கடலை பக்கோடா

Whenever I have tea then there is some reason behind it. Because I am not a tea person and always go for it when there are some snacks to munch with it. As Winter has started my mind always tempts me to have some hot snacks. So decided to make an easy snack with the ingredients available at home. At home, we all love these masala peanuts. Sharing you the way I made it so that you too can enjoy your tea with this snack.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 25 mins

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Groundnut/Peanut – 2 and 1/2 Cup
Gram flour – 1/2 Cup
Rice flour – 4 Tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1/2 Tbsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 Tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida – 1/8 tsp
Oil for frying

METHOD

Take peanut in a bowl. To it add Gram flour, Rice flour, Red Chilli flour, Coriander powder, Ginger garlic paste, salt and Asafoetida. 
Drizzle little oil on it. Give a mix.

Then sprinkle water little by little.and mix well to a sticky consistency batter.
Heat oil in a pan. Check whether the oil is hot by dropping a small piece of dough in it. It should float.
Once it is hot enough drop the peanuts and deep fry on medium flame till they are slightly golden brown. Remove the peanuts and drain them in a tissue paper-lined plate.

Sprinkle some chat masala over it for that little tangy taste. Let the peanuts cool down and become crunchy. Store them in an airtight container.
