A tasty spicy tangy yam fry made with elephant foot yam. I bet you this will taste different from the usual yam fry. You can have it as a snack or sidedish for Rice. Rice,Sambar or Rasam or Variety Rice will go yummy with this fry. You can also take a look at my other recipe made with yam.

Serves : 2 Persons
- Yam – 300 g
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Oil as required
1.Peel the skin of yam and chop them into thick slices. Put the piece into a bowl of water to avoid discoloration. Then drain the water from the yam pieces and add them to a mixing bowl. To it add Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pepper powder,ginger garlic paste, garam masala and lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients together.
2. Now add this marinated yam pieces to a pressure cooker along with 1 tbsp of water and pressure cook for 1 to 2 whistles in low flame. Once the pressure is released completely remove the lid. Grease the tawa with oil. Then add the cooked yam pieces to it. Drizzle oil if required and fry the pieces on both sides to golden brown. Repeat the same with the remaining and fry in batches.
