Chaala karuvadu fry – Dry Sardine fish(Mathi) fry

My mom used to make this dish often with Sardine dry fish. Mostly as a side dish for Rice or kanji. Whenever she cooks kanji at night. This would be there definitely. I love it. Also with Dal Rice and Sambar too it tastes yummy. Recently got a pack of Sardine fish from India. My mom had sent me. I was excited to make a dish with dry fish. Because it has been long since I had it. So I prepared my favorite fry along with Rice and Sambar.

Now Let’s see how to make this fry.

Fry them on both sides and then remove them and transfer them to a plate. To the same pan add the sliced shallots. Add oil if required. Saute them well. Add little salt as the dry fish already has salt in it. Let the shallots turn translucent. Then add the fried dry fish to it and mix well lightly and cook for 2 more minutes in low flame. Now the dish is ready for serving.
