I have learnt to cook many vegetarian recipes from my mom. She cooks them so tasty. Whatever she cooks she makes it yummy. I love all her vegetarian dishes. I started learning recipes from her and started cooking them from my college days. Even now she is the one whom I look upon for my cooking doubts and recipes mostly.
I cooked it today along with Rice, moru curry and dried Prawns fry.

Raw banana – 3
Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad dal – 2 tsp
Shallots – 3/4 cup(sliced)
Green chillies – 2(chopped)
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Salt to taste
Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
1. Cut the raw banana into two and steam them. After sometimes the colour will change and it will get soft. Don’t make it so mushy. Then remove them from it, peel off the skin and grate them.
2. In a pan heat oil, when it is hot add the mustard seeds, urad dal, Cumin seeds. Let them splutter. Then add sliced shallots, chopped green chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida. Saute them well until the shallots light golden. Add the salt as required.
3. Add the grated raw banana to it and mix well. Cover and cook in low flame for 10 minutes. Then add grated coconut and mix well. Switch off the flame.
