Mushroom white sauce pasta – Creamy mushroom pasta

I am so used to south Indian recipes as mom make them at home. While eating outside at hotels we generally prefer south Indian whether it is veg and non-veg and some times it will be Indo Chinese recipes. While making pasta or noodles at home it will mostly be in south Indian style. After coming to muscat I was able to taste different food recipes and try them at home. Though my own style of masala pasta is my favourite one I used to make this white sauce pasta, tomato sauce pasta now and then as my husband and daughter loves it.

Cooking Time : 20 mins

Serves : 2


Butter – 2 tbsp

Garlic chopped – 1 tbsp

Mushrooms – 250g(sliced)

Salt to taste

Mixed herbs – 1 tsp

Chilli flakes – 1 tsp

For cooking pasta

Pasta – 1.5 cups


Oil – 2 tsp

For preparing sauce

Butter – 2 tbsp

maida/all ppurpose flour – 2.5 tbsp

Milk – 1.5 cups


1.Boil water in a pot. Add salt and little oil to it. Bring it to a rolling boil. Then add the pasta into it and allow it to cook. I took around 15 mins to get cooked. Drain the water completely and keep the pasta aside. Add some oil to it and mix well. This will avoid the pasta from getting sticky.

2. Wash the mushrooms well and slice them thinly. Heat 2 tbsp butter in a pan. Add chopped garlic to it. Saute it for a minute and then add sliced mushrooms into it. Add a little salt. Saute them well in the butter and allow it to cook. Once the mushrooms are cooked transfer them to a plate.

3. To the same pan, add another 2 tbsp of butter.when the butter is melted, add the maida flour. Place the flame in low. Saute it in the butter for a minute. Then add milk into it and mix well, so that there are no lumps. Keep on stirring until it turns to a sauce-like consistency. Add mixed herbs, chilli flakes, salt as required, cooked mushrooms and cooked pasta. Mix well and switch off the flame.

Mushroom white pasta is ready.
