
Yesterday I prepared Rice ,Radish sambar and Cauliflower thoran. Thoran is a stir fry of veggies along with coconut. Whenever I prepare a South Indian meal for lunch there will always a poriyal or thoran in it. You can find the recipes of poriyal and thoran with different veggies in my blog. Each veggie gives a unique taste to the dish.
Lets see how to cook this cauliflower thoran.

Serves : 3
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Cauliflower – 1 (medium sized,cut into small florets)
Salt to taste
Coconut oil – 1.5 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Shallots – 1/2 cup(sliced)
Curry leaves – a few
For Grinding
Grated Coconut – 3/4 cup
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Tumeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Green chillies – 3
METHOD
1.Clean and cut cauliflower into small florets.Boil water in a pan. Bring it to a rolling boil. Add the cauliflower florets into it. Allow it to cook in it for 5 mins. Then drain the water from the cauliflower completely and keep it aside.

2. Grind grated coconut, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin seeds and green chillies coarsely without adding water.

3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, let them splutter. Then add sliced shallots. Saute it for a minute. Add the cooked cauliflower, salt. Saute it well in oil. After 5 mins, add the ground masala into it and mix well. Cook for few more minutes until the raw smell goes off. Add the curry leaves into it, mix well and switch off the flame.

Cauliflower thoran is ready.
Serve with Rice and Sambar, Rasam, moru curry or Puli Kuzhambu.
