Serves : 3
Bottle gourd – 2 cup( chopped)
Chana dal – 1/3 cup
Oil – 1.5 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Onion – 1(chopped)
Dried Red chilli – 2
Curry leaves – a few
Tomato – 1(small size, chopped)
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Water – 1/2 cup
1.Wash and soak Chana dal in water for about 15 to 20 mins. Peel the skin and Chop the bottle gourd into small pieces.
2.Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, chopped onions, dried red chillies, soaked chana dal, curry leaves, chopped tomatoes and saute them well for 2 minutes. Then add the chopped bottle gourd, salt. Mix well.
3. Add Turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala. Mix well. Add some water. Cover and cook until the veggie is cooked.
Bottle gourd chana dal stir fry is ready.
Serve with Rice or chapathi.
