
Pirandai or veldt grape is a creeper and it has a number of health benefits. Today I decided to make this pirandai thokku. You can store it for about a week and have it. You can have it as a side dish with rice or mix it rice and have. I got pirandai from Kaveri supermarket, Al Ghubarah, Muscat. It cost me around 0.650bz. I have taken 2 pieces from it and planted it in a pot. Hope it grows and will update it if it grows.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Gingelly oil
Urad dal – 1.5 tsp
Garlic – 8
Ginger – a small piece
Tamarind – a small lemon piece
Dried Red chilli – 7 nos (adjust to your taste)
Chopped pirandai – 1 cup
Salt to taste
METHOD
1.Seperate each nodes.Remove the outside thick skin and chop them into small pieces. Keep all the ingredients ready.

2. Heat oil in a pan. To it add garlic, ginger, dried red chillies, tamarind and chopped pirandai and saute them well in oil in low flame. Then switch off the flame. Allow it to cool down.

3. Transfer the ingredients to a jar, add salt as required and grind it well. Add little water as required and grind it to a smooth paste. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. Let them crackle. Then add the paste to it. Cook until the oil separates. Allow it to cool and transfer to a glass container.

Serve with Rice.
