
Nellikai / amla is rich in vitamin C. So it is always good to have them. This is a chutney made with amla/nellikkai as the main ingredient. Similarly, we can also prepare chutney using raw mango. We can have it with rice, porridge or kanji and dosa. You can also use dried red chillies instead of green chillies. I had it today with kanji.

Serves : 3
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Amla / Gooseberry – 5
Green chillies – 4
Shallots – 6
Ginger – a small piece
Curry leaves – 6
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Salt to taste
METHOD
Wash goose berries and cut them into small pieces, remove the seeds. Add them into the mixie jar along with green chillies, shallots, ginger, Curry leaves and grind them. Then add grated coconut, salt and grind it without adding water. Transfer it into a plate and mix well. Make it into a ball.

Nellikai chammanthi is ready
Serve with Rice, Dosa or kanji.
