
Potato roast / Urulai kizhangu roast is a perfect side dish for any Kuzhambu. If you are potato lover definitely try this recipe.I love this roast with Rice and Sambar,Tomato Rice. Try this recipe with the following steps.

Serves : 3 persons
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Potato – 2 (peeled and chopped into cubes)
Onion – 1 (finely sliced)
Curry leaves – a sprig
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp(finely chopped)
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
Dried round red chilli – 5 or Dried red chilli – 2
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
METHOD
1.Steam Potato cubes in a Idli maker for 10 mins.After they get cooked.Remove it and keep aside.
2.To a kadai add oil.Add mustard seeds,urad dal. Allow them to get golden.Add dried red chilli.
3.Saute sliced onions in it to golden.Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,Asafoetida and required amount of salt.
4.Add steamed potato cubes and mix well with the masala and saute it till the potatoes get roasted well.Finally add curry leaves and coriander.Serve it hot with Rice and Kuzhambu.
